Hi I’m Gerry Walker, the 4Peaks4Life challenge was my target to celebrate my double lung transplant after struggling with Cystic Fibrosis for 46 years. The challenge aimed to increase donor awareness and to raise funds for the CF Association of Ireland and the Freeman Cardio Centre Transplant Fund. I also paid tribute to my donor without whom I would have never experienced any summit vista again.

I climbed the highest mountains in Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales within a year of my transplant. I placed a rock originating from Carrantuohill on 30 May, Snowdon on 23 July, Ben Nevis on 25 July and Scafell Pike on 27 July at the summit of each peak engraved with a tribute to my donor Martin.

Martin will be remembered on the summit of all 4 countries I could not thank him enough.
